Lima, OH (WIMA) -- It had to have been a scary situation, but it appears that a major tragedy has been averted, involving students and chaperones from Delphos Jefferson High School.
28 seniors and 3 chaperones were on a senior trip to New York City, when the charter bus they were traveling in drove off an embankment while going through eastern Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania State Police said it took place just after 5am on Monday.
It happened on I-80, as the bus went off the road and down a 40-foot embankment.
A report stated that six passengers reported minor injuries.
Everyone on board were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
The bus was from Childers Charter based in Toledo.
