A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night (December 9) at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) when a 47-year-old man was fatally struck by a snowplow. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the LSG Sky Chefs facility, located in the 3100 block of East 73rd Street, just south of Terminal 2.
The accident occurred amid challenging weather conditions, with snowstorms affecting travel across the region. According to an MSP spokesperson, the man was hit during a winter storm that brought heavy snowfall to the area, with the airport receiving 3.4 inches of snow. First responders were called to the scene shortly after the incident.
The victim's identity has not yet been released, and authorities have not indicated what caused the incident. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting MSP Airport Police in investigating the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
