Scottie Scheffler included ravioli as an appetizer on his Masters Club host dinner menu, despite a bizarre injury caused by Italian dish.
The menu, which was revealed on Wednesday (March 19), included "Papa Scheff's Meatball and Ravioli Bites," which he said was a specialty made by his father, Scott, during his childhood, as well as humorous nod to the No. 1 overall golfer puncturing his palm when he used a wine glass to cut ravioli he was making for Christmas dinner.
“Any time he made them, we were all jacked up about it,” Scheffler said of his father's receipe via the Associated Press. “Thought it would be fun to put them on the menu this year. And the raviolis were a nice touch, as well.”
Scheffler, 28, who will attempt to win his third Masters green jacket in four years next month, was forced to miss The Sentry at Kapalua and The American Express in the California desert as he continues to heal from the hand injury.
“I have absolutely no pain in the hand, but getting the full total range of motion out of my hand is a little bit of a different story just because you’re not able to use a certain muscle for almost a month’s time. ... You have to build back strength in that hand," Scheffler said via the Associated Press.
Other items included on Scheffler's Masters Dinner menu included cheeseburger sliders and firecracker shrimp as appetizers, which he had previously served after his first Masters victory, as well as Texas-style chili as part of the first course, the choice of ribeye or redfish for the main course and warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert.
