(Lima, OH)--One person was killed in an early morning fire on Lima’s south side. The Lima Fire Department says that the fire happened at 902 South Main Street, with the fire call going out at 2:46. The three-story building had several individual living units and a total of nine people evacuated the building, two of those with the assistance of the first repsonders. However, one adult resident was unable to escape and perished in the blaze. That person’s identity is being withheld for the time being. It took LFD about two hours to get the fire under control and the investigation is ongoing as there was no immediately apparent cause.
