Lima, OH (WIMA) - Elida sophomore Codey Ewing of Boy Scout troop 84 has been named the Boy Scout of the Year from the Great Oak District in Allen, Hardin, and Putnam counties.
He suffered a hit to the head from a long fall on September 16th, 2016, and had to relearn how to do basic tasks after the severe brain injury.
He is currently working on his Eagle Scout project of painting the nursery and building toy storage at Gomer Congregational Church.
Ewing was also recognized at the 2018 Noon Optimist Youth Appreciation Program for his leadership skills and volunteerism.
