Lima, OH (WIMA) - Lima Mayor Dave Berger has turned down a chance to debate issues with his challenger, Keith Cheney, since an upcoming event is being held by the city's NAACP.
Berger has declined to even speak with the NAACP since Pastor Ron Fails took over its leadership.
The Berger for Mayor Campaign sent a letter to the NAACP declining the invitation to the debate set for September 27th.
The letter pointed out that Fails wife, Doctor Carol Fails, posted on social media a video of Cheney with the caption "hopefully the next mayor.”
