Drug Bust involving Carfentanil in Lima Restaurant Parking Lot

Lima, OH (WIMA) -- Officers from the Lima Police Department bike team conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of two people for possession of the drug Carfentanil.

The arrests happened in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on West Market Street on Thursday morning.

During a search of the vehicle, 57 grams of Carfentanil was located along with a large amount of cash.

Those arrested were 32 year-old Nancy Garza of Lima and 29 year-old Shawn Starcher of Parkersburg West Virginia.

Both have been charged with Suspicion of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and are being held at the Allen County Jail.

Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid that is 10,000 times more potent than morphine.
