Lima, OH (WIMA) -- The greater Lima area Jefferson Awards were handed out on Tuesday night.
14 year-old Lauren Cunningham was named the overall winner out of the 12 people on hand that were honored with individual Jefferson Awards.
That means Lauren will represent the area this summer at the National Awards in Washington, D.C.

Phil Compton, operates Table One in Kenton.
Emily Dientsberger, Delphos, who plays piano and sings for Alzheimer’s patients
Rebecca Dominguez, the Honoring Hometown Heroes project where banners were placed

Joe and Jenny Earl, who started Meals ‘Til Monday in 2010.
Sara Feldner, who is the first female president of the Buckeye State Mounted Deputies Association.
Kathy Gasser, a volunteer for St. John Parish in Delphos.
Derry Glenn, 6th ward Lima City Council representative
Mike Melvin, part of Flag City Honor Flight, a program that helps area veterans visit the national monuments in Washington D.C.
Cheryl Nagy, with the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life in Allen County
Candace Newland, who is active in the Kiwanis Club of Lima
Emily Vandemark, who started a Gatekeepers club at Bath High School
