Lima, OH (WIMA) -- Ohio's 2 Senators have worked together to help secure 1-point-7-9 billion dollars in the Senate’s Defense Appropriations Bill to protect critical manufacturing jobs at Lima’s Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC).
Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman previously fought to secure program authorization in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
The appropriations package, agreed to by both House and Senate representatives, is expected to be passed by the House and head to the President’s desk for his signature.
It will include: 265-million to continue Stryker vehicle upgrades, and More than 1-and-a-half billion dollars for upgrades to the Abrams Tanks.
