Violent Crime Rate Down in Lima

Lima, OH (WIMA) - Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin was at city council on Monday night, and he gave an update on some statistics from the police department over the past year.

Chief Martin said the rate of violent crimes has gone down along with other numbers, but the job isn't done.

He said other numbers have also improved, but the job is continuing and it will always be a goal to shrink those numbers as much as possible.

He also wants to build more relationships and partnerships with local groups in the hopes of helping to motivate citizens to stop crime before it happens around them.
