Lima, OH (WIMA) - What a Christmas surprise for workers at the Waffle House location in Wapakoneta.
The Grand Lake United Methodist Church of Celina’s lead pastor, Reverend Mick Whistler, had each family save one-dollar a week during advent.
During the 11 p.m. service Sunday on Christmas Eve, he surprised the congregation by telling them they’d be taking the money collected to the nearest restaurant that was open for Christmas.
The workers on duty serving up scattered, covered, smothered and capped hash browns received over 35-hundred dollars.
