Lima, OH (WIMA) - Elida High School Chemistry teacher Shelby Cluts was recently selected as an Outstanding Educator Award winner by the University of Chicago.
Each year, the university invites incoming freshmen to nominate an educator who has influenced them, challenged them, or helped them along the path of intellectual growth.
2017 Elida graduate Olivia Morales nominated her, saying Mrs. Cluts shaped her understanding of science, made lessons fun, and cares about her students.
Morales now majors at the University of Chicago in Chemistry.
