Lima, OH (WIMA) - First District State Senator Cliff Hite, a Republican from Findlay, abruptly resigned on Monday night.
Hite and his wife have released a joint written statement, where Hite admits to inappropriate conversations and often hugging a state employee.
His wife, Diane, said she forgives him, but they are now in counseling.
Hite’s resignation letter to the Senate said, “I look forward to focusing on my personal health and spending more time with my family.”
Hite also pointed out some serious health issues that will prevent him from continuing on in the State Senate.
