Lima, OH (WIMA) - The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle fatal crash that occurred on US 30 west of Richey Road in Van Wert County on Wednesday morning.
A semi westbound on US 30 slowed for traffic in a construction zone, as did a car trailing behind.
Another semi behind those 2 vehicles failed to maintain assured clear distance, and caused a chain reaction crash.
The driver of the car in between the semis, 63-year-old Bert Helsel of Minster, was pronounced dead on the scene.
