Lima, OH (WIMA) - 2 fatal crashes were reported in Allen County in the month of August by the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition.
The total number of fatal crashes in 2017 is now at 7 with 3 of the crashes involving drug or alcohol use and 4 of the 7 not using seat belts.
Each traffic fatality has a comprehensive cost of almost 5 and a half million dollars, and the total for this year is now up above 37 million dollars.
Though most of the fatal crashes have happened on county roads, officials remind drivers to stay alert on all roadways at all times.
