Lima, OH (WIMA) -- Five employees with the Allen County Sheriff's Office were recently honored with a Life Saving Award.
Corrections Officers Kitren Pearson, Mark Medina, Billy Thompson, Corrections Corporal Mike Bear, and Corrections Nurse Sandra Bailey, were all awarded for saving the life of an inmate.
Back in February, an inmate was found in a critical unresponsive state with no detectable pulse and was gasping for air.
The group worked together administering C-P-R and necessary medication for 20 minutes.
They were eventually able to stabilize the inmate and turn over care to emergency personnel.
The inmate fully recovered at the hospital and survived.
