The Lima Police Department is dealing with a second dead body and it has nothing to do with COVID-19. The LPD issued this statement this afternoon:
On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at approximately 10:36 am, Lima Police Officers were dispatched to 908 E Kibby St in reference to an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers located Rachel Cheney (71 years old of 908 E Kibby St) in a bedroom in the residence. Rachel was found to be deceased, the cause of death was a stab wound to her upper torso.
Joseph Cheney (43 years old of 908 E Kibby St) Rachel’s son, was determined to be a person of interest in this investigation. Joseph was located and taken into custody without further incident. Joseph was charged with Suspicion of Murder and held at the Allen County Jail.
