Lima, OH (WIMA) - A former employee with the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office has resigned but is now facing sexual assault related charges.
In a released statement from Sheriff Al Solomon, he advised that his office was made aware of an incident that happened last December 9th or 10th involving Brian Vernon.
Vernon was off duty, and the incident did not occur in Auglaize County.
He was placed on administrative leave.
An outside agency investigated the matter.
Vernon resigned his position on March 5th with the alleged charges being Assault and Sexual Imposition.
