(New Braunfels, TX) -- A brisket thief is behind bars in Texas.
Police in New Braunfels say the beef burglar is Rene Lozano, and he took nearly a thousand dollars worth of brisket from an H-E-B grocery store last month.
He's accused of swiping the meat on two separate occasions from the same store and it took a month before he was caught.
Very clear images of him were caught on surveillance and officers say the 47-year old was finally corralled in Guadalupe County on Wednesday and charged with theft.
Police say they are glad they were able to smoke out the Brisket Bandit.
