(Freeport, NY) -- A fight is brewing between a bar on Long Island, and one in Tennessee, over who created a well-known cocktail.
A Long Island Iced Tea combines vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin and a splash of cola, and is well known to many bar patrons.
New Yorkers will tell you that the drink got its start at the Hampton's Oak Beach Inn, when bartender "Rosebud" Butt whipped it up in 1972.
The Kingsport, Tennessee tourism board doesn't agree, and says the cocktail was invented by Charlie "Old Man" Bishop on the city's Long Island during prohibition.
A contest is planned between representatives from both states, with naming rights on the line.
