Goodbye, rather, See You Later, Caped Crusader...

Adam West will always be Batman.

Yeah, the late 60's TV show was a bit corny, but in syndication, its popularity took off.

I remember watching it when a new TV channel 36 came to Toledo when I was probably in junior high.

Even though the character was created by Bob Kane back in 1939, there were film shorts in the 40's and 50's, then the TV show, then the modern movie adaptations.

I liked Michael Keaton's portrayal in 1989, but I never cared much for Val Kilmer and George Clooney.

I really enjoyed the Dark Knight series with Christian Bale.

I've yet to see Ben Affleck's Batman, but I noticed they went back to a 50's design with his costume.

But, the man who will simply come to mind first when you say who was Batman, is Adam West.

He passed away this past weekend at the age of 88.

You can still hear him and see a cartoon version of him on Fox's "Family Guy", where he portrayed himself as the voice of the fictional Mayor of Quahog, Rhode Island.

RIP, Bruce Wayne, Batman, Adam. And thanks for the laughs and memories.
