AAA Reports High Crash Rates for New Teen Drivers

Lima, OH (WIMA) - There is new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety showing new teen drivers, ages 16 to 17, are 3 times more likely to be involved in a deadly crash than older adults.

The study showed they are almost 4 times more likely to be involved in a crash as someone who is just a year or 2 older than them in the 18 and older bracket.

The leading factors that have resulted in deadly teen crashes include distractions, not buckling up, and speeding.
