I was able to attend my first ever performance of the Lima Symphony Orchestra this past Saturday night.
I have to say I was very impressed. The show included world-renown horn player Chris Botti, who brought along some traveling and talented session musicians.
One male singer, one female singer, a bass player, and a drummer, along with a female violin player, who rocked it out, especially on a version of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir".
Botti was very personable with the audience, even coming out into the first few rows to perform on a few songs.
He also gave a local young music student the thrill of a lifetime, inviting him up on stage to play some simple drum patters with the band and the Orchestra.
The city of Lima truly has a gem with this Symphony Orchestra, as well as a choice of some downtown restaurants and spots to go to before or after a show.
We even saw some of the night's performers come to The Met after the show!
