Lima, OH (WIMA) - A house caught on fire early Monday morning in Celina and the fire ended up claiming the life of the lone occupant.
Firefighters in Celina got the call around 2:30 am to the fire at the corner of Warren and Cherry Streets.
The home at 221 East Warren was fully engulfed.
34-year-old Jeremy Bricker was killed in the fire.
His body was found in the kitchen near the back door of the home.
An autopsy is being conducted by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but fire officials say it appears to be accidental.
Also, a barking family dog alerted the occupants of a home in Elida that a fire had broken out early Monday morning.
The American Township Fire Department received a call just before 4:30 am to 2125 Buttercup Drive.
A mother and her three children got out of the house without being injured.
Shawnee Township fire crews were called in to assist in combatting the fire.
The fire began in a room above the garage.
