Patrol Hoping Drivers Will Abide by "Move Over" Law

Lima, OH (WIMA) - Coming off extra enforcement following Super Bowl weekend, The Ohio State Highway Patrol is now asking motorists for another favor.

The Move Over law, which now exists in all 50 states, requires drivers to move over if possible, or slow down, for any flashing lights that are stopped on the side of the road.

There were 73 crashes related to this law from 2012 to 2016, with 19 percent of the crashes involving alcohol and 59 percent of them due to snowy or icy conditions.
