Trump puts the Middle East on notice — Will this proposal break a 100-year cycle?

President Trump just made Arab countries in the Middle East an INSANE proposition. Are you ready for this because it’s just RIDICULOUS.

Here it goes, he actually had THE GALL to ask countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar to — wait for it… TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN LAND. I know, I know, that sounds shocking. The Western world has only assumed the role of Middle East steward for, oh say… EXACTLY 100 YEARS AGO THIS COMING NOVEMBER. But screw it, let’s go for another 100!

The Trump administration has proposed a plan to the Arab Gulf nations for them to provide funding and troops that would stabilize and patrol western Syria. In other words… the exact same area we’re currently bogged down in.

But it doesn’t just stop there. National Security Advisor John Bolton has also contacted Egypt to ask them to lend their support as well. Don’t everyone look now, but we might be seeing the beginning of a coalition of nations in the Middle East… THAT ARE ACTUALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

This plan still has a ways to go before it bears any fruit, but major kudos to the Trump administration for actually looking at options that scale back our ridiculously overstretched military. Our men and women in uniform are EXHAUSTED. They’ve been in near constant combat in this region for 17 YEARS. It’s well past time for the people who call this region home to take over the reigns.

“It’s high time we broke this 100-year cycle.”

Since 2011, the Arab nations have been relatively nonexistent in the Syrian crisis. I know what you’re thinking — they didn’t lend a hand militarily, but at least they took care of the refugees right? Let’s leave out Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon. Everyone else: the Saudis, Qatar, Oman, the UAE and Bahrain have contributed exactly… ZERO SUPPORT for the Syrian refugees. ZERO.

The truth is, the Arab nations have grown comfortable knowing someone else will always take care of their problems. They’re like a person living on welfare their entire life. Why work when you can get something for free?

It’s high time we broke this 100-year cycle. It’s time to get out, and it’s way beyond time the people who live in the Middle East take some responsibility for their own home.
