Kings Island Unveils New Chaperone Policy

MASON, Ohio (WTVN)--Kings Island amusement park, near Cincinnati, is implementing a new chaperone policy, in an effort to cut down on unruly behavior by guests.

The policy takes effect April 22nd, and requires that anyone 15 years old and younger be accompanied by a chaperone, that's at least 21 years old, between 4PM and the park's closing time. Chaperones must also be able to provide a valid ID.

Park officials say one chaperone can accompany no more than 10 guests under age 15 at a time, and they must be inside the park with their younger guests at all times, while also being available by phone.

Anyone under age 15 caught without a chaperone, during the effective hours, is subject to ejection.

Kings Island says, "Over the past two years, there have been increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior across our industry and at other major entertainment venues. We are committed to keeping Kings Island a place where families and friends come together to enjoy a one-of-a-kind park full of fun experiences and immersive entertainment."
