>>Arrest Warrant Issued in Vehicular Death

Shawnee Township Police Department has successfully located and apprehended Dalton Roessler,

Roessler was wanted in connection with the death of 17-year old Sierra Stewart in a single-vehicle crash Monday night.

The accident saw Roessler driver a Silver 2004 Ford Mustang off the north side of Spencerville Road. Stewart was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two other passengers identified the driver after he fled the scene on foot. A search, with a K-9 crew, failed to locate Roessler.

Roessler is a 21-year old white male with no known address.

AFTER MISSING A SELF-IMPOSED DEADLINE YESTERDAY, THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS SAYS IT IS STILL TRYING TO COUNT HOW MANY VOTERS IN THE COUNTY RECEIVED INCORRECT ABSENTEE BALLOTS IN THE MAIL. ELECTION OFFICIALS BLAME A DISABLED PIECE OF SOFTWARE AS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. THE MACHINE THAT SORTS THE BALLOTS IS RUN BY A THIRD PARTY. THE BOARD SAYS ONCE IT KNOWS HOW MANY PEOPLE RECEIVED THE INCORRECT BALLOTS IT WILL MAIL NEW BALLOTS WITHIN 72 HOURS.

THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS SAYS IT DOES NOT BELIEVE THE ACT WAS CRIMINAL.

A FEDERAL JUDGE RULED YESTERDAY THAT OHIO'S COUNTY BOARDS OF ELECTIONS CAN OFFER OFF-SITE DROP BOXES FOR COLLECTION OF VOTERS' ABSENTEE BALLOTS.

THE CINCINNATI ENQUIRER REPORTS THAT U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE DAN POLSTER BLOCKED OHIO SECRETARY OF STATE FRANK LAROSE'S ORDER, WHICH PROHIBITED OFF-SITE DROP BOXES. BUT THE REPUBLICAN ELECTIONS CHIEF WILL APPEAL.

FEDERAL AGENTS HAVE FOILED A STUNNING PLOT TO KIDNAP MICHIGAN DEMOCRATIC GOV. GRETCHEN WHITMER AND CHARGE HER WITH TREASON IN RESPONSE TO HEALTH ORDER SHE ISSUED IN THE WAKE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

SIX MEN WERE CHARGED IN FEDERAL COURT, WHILE SEVEN OTHERS ACCUSED OF TRYING TO TARGET POLICE AND THE STATE CAPITOL WERE CHARGED IN STATE COURT. THE F-B-I SAYS THE MEN CHARGED IN FEDERAL COURT PLOTTED FOR MONTHS, CONSULTING AND TRAINING WITH MEMBERS OF A GROUP THAT FEDERAL AUTHORITIES DESCRIBED AS A MILITIA, AND UNDERTAKING REHEARSALS IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER. THEY FACE UP TO LIFE IN PRISON IF CONVICTED. THE SCHEME APPEARED TO HAVE ROOTS IN A JUNE GATHERING IN DUBLIN, OHIO, ATTENDED BY MORE THAN A DOZEN PEOPLE FROM SEVERAL STATES.

>>LCC, Minster and Delphos St. John’s boys qualify for State Tournament

(Bowling Green, OH) -- Lima Central Catholic finished second, Minster third and Delphos St. John’s fourth at the Boys Golf Division III Northwest District Tournament at Stone Ridge in Bowling Green as each earned a berth in next week’s State Tournament.

The top four team scores and the top four individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to Columbus.

Parker Judy led LCC with an 80.

Brady Hoelscher led Minster with an 80.

Jack Gerker led DSJ with a 79.

Individually, Allen East’s Zach Miller made it to state after tying for second place with a 76. The Mustangs finished just one shot behind the Blue Jays for the final spot at State.

Meanwhile, the LCC Girls Golf team begins defense of its Division II State Championship today in Columbus.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bears stopped Tom Brady on Tampa Bay's final drive to hold on and beat the Buccaneers 20-19 at Soldier Field. Cairo Santo's 38-yard field goal with 1:13 left was the difference as Chicago improved to 4-and-1. Nick Foles was 30-of-42 for 243 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Bears, who trailed 13-0 early. Brady finished 25-of-41 for 253 yards and a TD for the Bucs, who slipped to 3-and-2. Ronald Jones the Second racked up 106 rushing on 17 carries in the loss. Ryan Succop's fourth field goal of the night had given Tampa Bay a 19-17 lead with 4:49 to play.

Atlanta Braves 7, Miami Marlins 0

(Braves win best-of-five NLDS, 3-0)

(Houston, TX) -- The Atlanta Braves are headed to the National League Championship Series for the first time since 2001. Kyle Wright and three relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Braves blasted the Marlins 7-0 in Game Three of their NL Division Series in Houston. Wright struck out seven and gave up just three hits to earn the win. Travis d'Arnaud [[ dar-NOH ]] and Dansby Swanson drove in two runs apiece for the Braves, who swept the best-of-five set three-games-to-none. Atlanta improved to 5-and-0 this postseason and became just the second team in history to throw four shutouts in its first five playoff games. The Braves had lost eight straight division series coming in. Corey Dickerson had three of the five hits for the Fish, who were making their first playoff appearance since 2003. Sixto Sanchez gave up four runs in three frames to suffer the loss.

Los Angeles Dodgers 12, San Diego Padres 3

(Dodgers win best-of-five NLDS, 3-0)

(Arlington, TX) -- The Dodgers completed a three-game sweep as they dropped the Padres 12-3 to close out their NL Division Series in Arlington. Julio Urias pitched five innings of one-run relief to get the win for Los Angeles. Will Smith went 5-of-6 with two doubles and three RBI and Cody Bellinger also drove in three. The Dodgers are unbeaten in the postseason and will face the Braves in the National League Championship Series beginning Monday. The Padres used 11 pitchers, but had no answer for the LA offense. Adrian Morejon took the loss for San Diego.

Houston Astros 11, Oakland Athletics 6

(Astros win best-of-five ALDS, 3-1)

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Houston Astros are heading to the American League Championship Series for the fourth consecutive season. Michael Brantley homered twice and drove in three as the Astros outslugged the Athletics 11-6 in Game Four of their AL Division Series in Los Angeles. Carlos Correa clubbed a three-run homer and knocked in five runs, while Jose Altuve added a two-run blast for Houston. Cristian Javier picked up the win in relief. Ramon Laureano homered twice and plated four for the A's, who were seeking their first trip to the ALCS since 2006. Frankie Montas was tagged for five runs in less than four innings to absorb the loss.

New York Yankees 5, Tampa Bay Rays 1

(Best-of-five ALDS tied, 2-2)

(San Diego, CA) -- Gleyber Torres and Luke Voit homered as the Yankees took down the Rays 5-1 in Game Four of the ALDS in San Diego. Jordan Montgomery only gave up one run over four innings, while Chad Green picked up the win in relief for the Yankees. Aroldis Chapman secured the save for New York, which forces a Game Five on Friday. Brandon Lowe drove in the lone run for the Rays. Ryan Thompson gave up two runs over an inning and two thirds for Tampa Bay to take the loss.
