>>HUGE DRUG BUST IN LIMA BY THE WEST CENTRAL OHIO CRIME TASK FORCE

(LIMA, OH) -- IN THE LATE EVENING HOURS OF MONDAY JULY 13TH, 2020, AND INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS OF TUESDAY JULY 14TH, 2020, A MALE SUBJECT KNOWN TO AUTHORITIES AS ANDREW TAYLOR (DOB: 03/23/1981) WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. MR. TAYLOR HAD BEEN ON THE RUN FOR MULTIPLE YEARS, UTILIZING NUMEROUS ALIASES, MANY ALTERED IDENTIFICATIONS, AND MOVING THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. TAYLOR ALSO HAD MULTIPLE WARRANTS IN VARIOUS STATES WITH HIS VARIOUS ALIASES.

WITH THE ASSISTANCE FROM THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS AND OTHER FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL AGENCIES, INFORMATION WAS GATHERED AND SURVEILLANCE WAS CONDUCTED BY TASK FORCE INVESTIGATORS, EVENTUALLY LOCATING MR. TAYLOR AT 1405 HAZEL AVE. LIMA. TAYLOR WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WITHOUT INCIDENT.

DURING THE ARREST OF MR. TAYLOR, INVESTIGATORS LOCATED HIS PILL PROCESSING FACILITY ON THE PROPERTY RESULTING IN AN ADDITIONAL SEARCH WARRANT FOR THE PROPERTY. A SEPARATE SEARCH WARRANT WAS ALSO ISSUED FOR MR. TAYLOR’S SECOND KNOWN RESIDENCE OF 705 MICHAEL AVE. LIMA.

THE SEARCH WARRANT OF 705 MICHAEL AVE. RESULTED IN NUMEROUS ITEMS BEING FOUND INCLUDING MULTIPLE FIREARMS, TWO NARCOTIC MANUFACTURING PRESSES, VARIOUS NARCOTICS, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES.

THE SEARCH AT 1405 HAZEL AVE. RESULTED IN OVER $128,000.00 U.S. CURRENCY, AN ELECTRIC COMMERCIAL GRADE PHARMACEUTICAL PILL PRESS, APPROXIMATELY 11.5 KILOGRAMS OF SUSPECTED FENTANYL POWDER, APPROXIMATELY 3200 SUSPECTED FENTANYL PILLS, SUSPECTED CRACK COCAINE, SUSPECTED MARIJUANA, SUSPECTED ACID, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, ELECTRONIC DEVICES, MULTIPLE FIREARMS, AND VARIOUS NARCOTIC MANUFACTURING ITEMS.

MR. TAYLOR HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED INTO FEDERAL CUSTODY AND IS AWAITING COURT PROCEEDINGS AS THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.

THE WEST CENTRAL OHIO CRIME TASK FORCE IS COMPRISED OF INVESTIGATORS FROM THE ALLEN COUNTY SHERRIFF’S OFFICE, VAN WERT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LIMA POLICE DEPARTMENT, OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL, AND DELPHOS POLICE DEPARTMENT.

>>HIT AND RUN CLAIMS A LIFE IN LIMA

(LIMA, OH) -- DETAILS ARE SCANT FROM A HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT IN LIMA LAST NIGHT THAT SAW A PERSON KILLED. THE LIMA POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A SEMI-TRUCK WITH A BLACK CAB AND A LIGHT COLORED TRAILER. THE IDENTITY OF THE DECEASED HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED.

(LIMA, OH) -- RHODES STATE COLLEGE HAS COLLABORATED WITH CLARK STATE WORKFORCE & BUSINESS SOLUTIONS TO OFFER CONTRACT TRACING TRAINING IN RESPONSE TO THE DEMAND OF LOCAL BUSINESSES. THE TRAINING WILL BE TAKE PLACE IN SIX-PARTS, BE SELF-PACED, ONLINE AND ALIGNED WITH THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION’S (CDC) PROTOCOLS.

OHIO GOVERNOR MIKE DEWINE’S OFFICE HAS BEGUN TO ASSEMBLE A FORCE OF 1,750 CONTACT TRACERS TO ADD TO THE CURRENT VOLUNTEERS WHO TRACK POSSIBLE COVID-19 INFECTIONS. PARTICIPANT IN THE PROGRAM WOULD BE ABLE TO FILL THIS NEED.

THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE TRAINING WILL LEARN THE BACKGROUND OF COVID-19, THE BASICS OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT EMERGENCY RESPONSE, WAYS TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS AND SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS FOR THOSE POTENTIALLY EXPOSED OR SYMPTOMATIC OF COVID-19.

(NEW YORK, NY) -- THE NFL IS NOW WILLING TO GRANT ITS PLAYERS' REQUEST TO NOT PLAY ANY PRESEASON GAMES THIS SUMMER AS THE LEAGUE AND THE UNION WORK TOWARDS AN AGREEMENT TO HAVE THE REGULAR SEASON START AS SCHEDULED, ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE REPORTS. EARLIER IN THE DAY, THE TWO SIDES DID AGREE ON PROTOCOLS FOR COVID-19 TESTING, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO PLAYERS DAILY FOR AT LEAST THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF TRAINING CAMP. THE PLAYERS HAVE BEEN RELUCTANT TO HOLD A PRESEASON DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, INSTEAD WANTING MORE ACCLIMATION TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE SEASON, AND NFL.COM REPORTS THAT THE OWNERS ARE NOW OFFERING AN 18-DAY ACCLIMATION PERIOD AFTER PREVIOUSLY PROPOSING SEVEN DAYS. (NEW YORK, NY) -- THE NHL REVEALED THE CORONAVIRUS TEST RESULTS FROM THE FIRST FIVE DAYS OF TEAM TRAINING, SHOWING JUST TWO NEW CASES OF COVID-19. DUE TO LEAGUE POLICY, THE NAMES AND TEAMS OF THE PLAYERS WHO HAVE TESTED POSITIVE HAVE NOT BEEN MADE PUBLIC. SINCE TEAMS ARRIVED FOR CAMPS LAST MONDAY, THE NHL HAD ADMINISTERED 2,618 TESTS TO OVER 800 DIFFERENT PLAYERS THROUGH FRIDAY, THE LEAGUE SAID IN A STATEMENT. TEAMS ARE PREPARING TO MOVE TO THE NEXT PHASE OF THE NHL'S RESTART PLAN, FLYING TO EITHER TORONTO OR EDMONTON WITH THE NEXT WEEK IN PREPARATION FOR THE LEAGUE'S AUG. 1 RESTART.
