(FINDLAY, OH) -- THE FINDLAY POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN A NEWS RELEASE, SAYS THAT IT IS LOOKING FOR A SUSPECT IN A SHOOTING FROM A VEHICLE THAT FOLLOWED A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT IN THE CITY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT.

THE INCIDENT HAPPENED JUST AFTER 11:00 AT LIMA AND MAIN STREETS. POLICE DISCOVERED THE FACTS OF THE CASE AFTER BEING DISPATCHED TO BLANCHARD VALLEY HOSPITAL FOR A MALE WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND. THE SHOOTING TOOK PLACE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF S. MAIN ST. AND LIMA ST. THE VICTIM WAS SHOT BY AN UNKNOWN MALE WHO WAS A PASSENGER IN A WHITE SUV, DRIVEN BY A FEMALE. THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE WITH SHAGGY BROWN HAIR, LARGE GREEN EAR GAUGES, AND POSSESSED A BLACK SEMI-AUTOMATIC HANDGUN. THE FEMALE DRIVER WAS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE FEMALE WITH DARK HAIR AND GLASSES. AFTER THE SHOOTING, THE VEHICLE FLED THE SCENE WESTBOUND ON BALDWIN AVE. THE VICTIM IS BEING TREATED AT BLANCHARD VALLEY HOSPITAL FOR NON-LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES. (LIMA, OH) -- A 17-YEAR OLD IS NOW IN THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER AFTER LEADING POLICE ON A HIGH SPEED CHASE EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. HOMETOWN STATIONS REPORTS THAT IT STARTED AS A TRAFFIC STOP. THE TEEN THEN TOOK OFF AND LED ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES ON A HIGH SPEED CHASE THE CAME TO AN END WITH THE TEEN BEING APPREHENDED IN THE 200 BLOCK OF SOUTH MCDONEL STREET IN LIMA.

(LIMA, OH) -- TONIGHT AT THE LIMA CITY COUNCIL MEETING, COUNCIL WILL BE ASKED BY THE BERGER ADMINISTRATION TO GIVE GO-AHEAD TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL FUNDING IN ORDER TO UPDATE UNDERGROUND INFRASTRUCTURE AND STREETSCAPING IN A GROUP OF 20 BLOCKS EAST OF MAIN STREET.

IF THE GRANT COMES TO FRUITION, PLANS CALL FOR IMPROVED DECORATIVE LIGHTING AND PARKING BUMP-OUTS IN THE DOWNTOWN IN AN AREA BOUNDED BY WAYNE STREET ON THE NORTH, MAIN STREET ON THE WEST, ELM STREET IN THE SOUTH AND THE RAILROAD TRACKS NEAR CENTRAL AVENUE ON THE EAST.

SOME OTHER ONGOING PROJECTS WOULD ALSO SEE FUNDING, INCLUDING THE RENOVATION OF THE MAIN AND MARKET STREET INTERSECTION, DEVELOPMENT OF THE GREATER LIMA REGION PARK & AMPHITHEATER AND REPLACEMENT OF UNDERGROUND PIPELINES.

THE CITY WOULD COMBINE $3 MILLION FROM THE CITY’S WATER FUND THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN SET ASIDE FOR UNDERGROUND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AND $1 MILLION FROM AN OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SAFETY GRANT ALREADY AWARDED TO THE CITY TO ENHANCE THE MAIN AND MARKET STREETS INTERSECTION TO REACH THE THRESHOLD OF MATCHING FUNDS NEEDED TO SECURE THE ADDITIONAL $6.5 MILLION IN FEDERAL MONEY.
