>>STATE PATROL INVESTIGATES FATAL CRASH IN ALLEN COUNTY

(LIMA, OH) -- THE OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL’S LIMA POST IS INVESTIGATING A THREE VEHICLE FATAL CRASH. THE CRASH OCCURRED YESTERDAY AT APPROXIMATELY 5:11 P.M. ON STATE ROUTE 309 NEAR THAYER ROAD.

30-YEAR OLD BARBARA LAMB, OF ADA, WAS EASTBOUND ON STATE ROUTE 309, DRIVING A GRAY 2013 FORD C-MAX. MRS. LAMB TRAVELED LEFT OF CENTER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND STRUCK A BLACK 2012 FORD TAURUS DRIVEN BY 28-YEAR OLD DYSTINY MARSHALL, OF MCGUFFEY.

MRS. LAMB WAS TRANSPORTED TO LIMA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD. MRS. LAMB’S PASSENGER 36-YEAR OLD RYAN LAMB, OF ADA, WAS TRANSPORTED TO LIMA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. MS. MARSHALL WAS ALSO TAKEN TO LIMA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. ALL PARTIES WERE WEARING THEIR SAFETY BELTS.

>>WAPAK MAN SERIOUS BUT STABLE FOLLOWING CAR-TRAIN CRASH

(LIMA, OH) -- RAIL CROSSINGS AROUND WAPAKONETA WERE BLOCKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS YESTERDAY FOLLOWING A CAR/TRAIN COLLISION IN WAPAKONETA.

THE LIMA NEWS REPORTS THAT 83-YEAR OLD CARMEN TEDESCO SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURIES IN THE ACCIDENT. THE REPORT SAYS HE IS IN SERIOUS BUT STABLE CONDITION AT ST. RITA’S.

>>DECEASED MAN IDENTIFIED IN GRAND LAKE ACCIDENT

(COLUMBUS, OH) -- THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IDENTIFIED THE VICTIMS IN A DEADLY JET SKI ACCIDENT EARLY MONDAY MORNING ON GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS.

TREVOR MOBLEY, 26, OF COLDWATER WAS IDENTIFIED AS THE MAN KILLED IN THE CRASH, ACCORDING TO AN ODNR SPOKESPERSON. THE PASSENGER, IDENTIFIED AS COREY KUETHER, 29, OF MONTEZUMA, SURVIVED THE ACCIDENT AND SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES, OFFICIALS SAID.

>>MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF IN CAIRO

(CAIRO, OH) -- TUESDAY NIGHT ABOUT 8:20, THE ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDED TO A CALL FROM A THIRD PARTY WHO STATED A FRIEND HAD ACCIDENTLY SHOT HIMSELF AT 131 EAST MAIN STREET IN CAIRO. RESPONDING DEPUTIES FOUND A 35 YEAR OLD MALE HAD SUSTAINED WHAT IS BELIEVED TO BE AN ACCIDENTAL SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND TO HIS LEFT THIGH. CAIRO EMS TREATED THE INDIVIDUAL AT THE SCENE THEN TRANSPORTED HIM TO ST. RITA’S WITH WHAT WAS BELIEVED TO BE A NON-LIFE-THREATENING INJURY. THE DETECTIVE BUREAU IS INVESTIGATING THIS INCIDENT AND CHARGES HAVE NOT BEEN FILED AT THIS TIME BUT ARE LIKELY. ALCOHOL MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR IN THE INCIDENT.

>>OHIO STATE SUSPENDS VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS DUE TO POSITIVE COVID-19 TESTS

(COLUMBUS, OH) -- THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY IS SUSPENDING VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS FOR MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, FIELD HOCKEY, AND FOOTBALL. OFFICIALS MADE THE ANNOUNCEMENT ON WEDNESDAY, SAYING THE DECISION CAME AFTER AN UNDISCLOSED NUMBER OF STUDENT-ATHLETES HAD TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS. OSU SAID THE STUDENTS WHO TESTED POSITIVE WILL NOW SELF-ISOLATE FOR 14-DAYS AND RECEIVE DAILY CHECK-UPS FROM ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT MEDICAL STAFF. VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS RESUMED ON CAMPUS IN EARLY JUNE, AND IT APPEARS THE START OF FALL TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULED TO BEGIN JULY 13TH COULD BE PUSHED BACK.

>>IVY LEAGUE POSTPONES ALL FALL SPORTS TO NEXT YEAR

(UNDATED) -- THE IVY LEAGUE IS PUTTING ALL SPORTS ON HOLD DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. IT'S NOW THE FIRST NCAA DIVISION ONE CONFERENCE TO SAY IT WON'T PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL THIS FALL. AND IF THINGS DON'T GET BETTER, BASKETBALL COULD REPORTEDLY BE NEXT. TEAMS MIGHT STILL PRACTICE IN THE FALL BUT WON'T PLAY UNTIL NEXT YEAR. THIS IS BECAUSE OF RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL, REQUIREMENTS FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND LIMITS ON GROUP GATHERINGS.
