>>MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN LIMA

(LIMA, OH) -- LAST NIGHT AT ABOUT 5:30 LIMA POLICE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A SHOOTING AT THE FOURTH STREET APARTMENTS AS 758 EAST FOURTH STREET. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY DISCOVERED THAT 21-YEAR OLD DRENTAE MOORE SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND. OFFICERS BEGAN TO RENDER LIFESAVING MEDICAL TREATMENT BEFORE DRENTE WAS TAKEN TO ST RITA’S MEDICAL CENTER. HE IS CURRENTLY LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION. AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED AND DETECTIVES ARE FOLLOWING UP WITH INFORMATION. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT CRIME STOPPERS OR THE LIMA POLICE DEPARTMENT (419-227-4444).

>>DEWINE ISSUES MASKING ORDER

(COLUMBUS, OH) -- BEGINNING THIS EVENING, RESIDENTS OF SEVEN OHIO COUNTIES - BUTLER, CUYAHOGA, FRANKLIN, HAMILTON, HURON, MONTGOMERY AND TRUMBULL - COULD FACE PENALTIES IF THEY GO INTO A PUBLIC SPACE WITHOUT A MASK.

GOVERNOR MIKE DEWINE SAID THE ORDER COMES AFTER TALKING TO HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS IN THESE SEVEN COUNTIES. THIS IS WHERE THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS IS THE WORST AND WHERE THE MASK MANDATE WILL BE IN EFFECT. THE GOVERNOR SAYS IF YOU ARE CAUGHT NOT WEARING A MASK IT'S A MISDEMEANOR. GOV. DEWINE SAYS THIS ORDER SHOULD SIGNAL TO OHIOANS THAT WE HAVE A LOT TO WORRY ABOUT AND CALLED IT AN "IMMINENT CRISIS".

ON THE DATA FRONT, YESTERDAY, AS IS THE NORM ON TUESDAYS, THE COVID-19 METRICS SAW JUMPS THAT FAR EXCEED THE ROLLING 21-DAY AVERAGES. HOWEVER, THE CURRENT 21-DAY AVERAGES CONTINUE TO SHOW A MODERATE INCREASE IN HOSPITALIZATIONS WHILE THE ICU ADMISSIONS AND DEATHS REMAIN AT OR BELOW THE LEVELS OF THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS.

LOCALLY, THERE WAS NO JUMP IN THE ALLEN COUNTY NUMBERS AS THERE WERE ONLY 2 NEW CASES, ONE HOSPITALIZATION AND NO DEATHS REPORTED.

>>GREG SIMPSON SENTENCED TO 30 DAYS

(LIMA, OH) -- LIMA BASKETBALL LEGEND GREG SIMPSON WAS SENTENCED TO PROBATION, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND 30 DAYS IN JAIL BY JUDGE TERRI KOHLRIESER IN ALLEN COUNTY COMMON PLEAS COURT.

THE SENTENCE STEMS FROM SIMPSON’S FEBRUARY GUILTY PLEA TO A THIRD-DEGREE TAMPERING WITH RECORDS CHARGE. THE TWO-TIME OHIO MR. BASKETBALL WINNER FOR LIMA SENIOR WAS SELLING FALSIFIED DRIVING CERTIFICATES WHILE EMPLOYED AT LIMA WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL.

>>DEATH ON GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS REMAINS A MYSTERY

(COLUMBUS, OH) -- STEPHANIE O’GRADY, THE MEDIA SPOKESPERSON FOR THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TOLD WIMA YESTERDAY THAT NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS AS YET BEING RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC CONCERNING A DEADLY ACCIDENT EARLY MONDAY MORNING ON GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS.

THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER REPORTS THAT FOUNDER’S WOMEN’S HEALTH CENTER WILL CLOSE THIS MONTH AFTER 47 YEARS OF SERVICE. GABRIEL MANN, NARAL PRO-CHOICE OHIO’S COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, SAYS THE CLOSURE IS DUE TO RETIREMENT AND IS NOT RELATED TO ANY LEGISLATIVE OR ADMINISTRATIVE STATE ACTIONS. THE CLINIC DECLINED TO ISSUE A COMMENT TO THE MEDIA. THE GREATER COLUMBUS RIGHT TO LIFE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WROTE A LETTER TO SUPPORTERS ANNOUNCING THE CLOSURE AND CLAIMING IT AS A RESULT OF THE GROUP’S EFFORTS.
