>>SHOTS FIRED INTO A LIMA HOME

(LIMA, OH) -- LIMA POLICE REPORT THAT SHOTS WERE FIRED AT A HOME AT 827 RICHIE AVENUE LAST NIGHT JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT. THERE WERE PEOPLE AT HOME AT THE TIME, INCLUDING CHILDREN. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS HIT AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE SHOTS WERE LIKELY FIRED FROM A VEHICLE BUT THE INCIDENT IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED.

>>LIMA MAN ARRESTED FOR ARSON

(LIMA, OH) -- ON MEMORIAL DAY, THE NOLO PALLETS FACILITY AT 405 FINDLAY ROAD WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE. YESTERDAY A LIMA MAN WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH SETTING THAT FIRE.

THE LIMA NEWS REPORTS THAT 61-YEAR OLD ELMER MAULT OF LIMA WAS SEEN ON SECURITY FOOTAGE IN THE FACILITY THE NIGHT OF THE FIRE.

INVESTIGATORS TOLD THE NEWS THAT THEY BELIEVE MAULT SET THE BLAZE TO COVER UP EVIDENCE OF HIS ROBBERY OF THE FACILITY.

>>PUTNAM COUNTY FAIR DELAYS DECISION

THAT MEETING WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

(LIMA, OH) -- THE ALLEN COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE LAS T NIGHT APPOINTED BETH SEIBERT TO FINISH THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF JAY BEGG.

AFTER WINNING THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY EARLIER THIS YEAR, SEIBERT WILL HOLD THE INTERIM POSITION UNTIL JANUARY. IN THE GENERAL ELECTION SHE WILL FACE DEMOCRAT NORMAN CAPPS AND INDEPENDENT DAN BECK WITH THE WINNER TAKING OVER THE SPOT ON THE COMMISSION FOR A FULL TERM.

>>MERCER COUNTY BOY KILLED IN ATV ACCIDENT

(CELINA, OH) -- MERCER COUNTY SHERIFF JEFF GREY TELLS US THAT A MERCER COUNTY BOY WAS KILLED IN AN ATV ACCIDENT MONDAY NIGHT. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN RECOVERY TOWNSHIP WEST OF STATE ROUTE 49 AND SOUTH OF PARK ROAD.

THE INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT TWO BROTHERS, AGES 6 AND 8 WERE IN A 2011 POLARIS RANGER (ATV) DRIVING DOWN A GRAVEL DRIVE BETWEEN TWO FIELDS. THE 6 YEAR OLD WAS OPERATING THE ATV, HE WAS IDENTIFIED AS SAWYER D. OVERMAN. SAWYER WENT OFF OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRAVEL ROAD, OVER CORRECTED, LOST CONTROL AND WENT OFF OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GRAVEL LANE. THE ATV OVERTURNED AND EJECTED SAWYER, WHO WAS PINNED UNDER THE ATV. HIS 8 YEAR OLD BROTHER WAS ABLE TO FREE HIMSELF FROM INSIDE THE ATV AND WENT TO SEEK HELP.

SEVERAL ADULTS RESPONDED AND ATTEMPTED RESUSCITATION EFFORTS UNTIL ST. HENRY EMS ARRIVED. SAWYER WAS TRANSPORTED TO MERCER HEALTH IN COLDWATER, BY ST. HENRY EMS WHERE HE WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED A SHORT TIME LATER.

>>BGSU REINSTATES BASEBALL PROGRAM

(BOWLING GREEN, OH) -- LESS THAN THREE WEEKS AFTER ANNOUNCING THAT IT WOULD ELIMINATE ITS BASEBALL PROGRAM AS PART OF A $2 MILLION DOLLAR COVID-19 RELATED BUDGET CUT FOR THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT, BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY YESTERDAY ANNOUNCED THAT THE BASEBALL PROGRAM WILL BE REINSTATED.
