(FT. JENNINGS, OH) -- THE SEARCH HAS RESUMED THIS MORNING NEAR FT. JENNINGS AS AUTHORITIES AND VOLUNTEERS LOOK FOR 5-YEAR OLD AUSTIN SCHROEDER. HE HAS NON-VERBAL AUTISM AND IS DESCRIBED AS HAVING AN AVERAGE BUILD WITH BLONDE HAIR. YESTERDAY’S SEARCH STRETCHED FROM ABOUT 3:30 TO DUSK.

>>MAN FOUND DEAD AT LIMA TRAVELODGE

(LIMA, OH) -- JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT YESTERDAY MORNING, LIMA POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE TRAVELODGE HOTEL AT 805 SOUTH LEONARD AVENUE IN REFERENCE TO A FEMALE CAUSING A DISTURBANCE. UPON ARRIVAL OFFICERS LOCATED SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS INSIDE ROOM 252. ALSO IN THE ROOM WAS A DECEASED MALE, LATER IDENTIFIED AS 59-YEAR OLD DINO GERDEMAN OF LIMA. THE DEATH APPEARED SUSPICIOUS IN NATURE AND AFTER AN INVESTIGATION, 19-YEAR OLD KEA’LONDA PEOPLES-FUQUA WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR CORRUPTING ANOTHER WITH DRUGS.

>>WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH

(LIMA, OH) -- YESTERDAY AT APPROXIMATELY 10:36 AM, LIMA POLICE OFFICERS WERE DISPATCHED TO 908 EAST KIBBY ST IN REFERENCE TO AN UNRESPONSIVE FEMALE. UPON ARRIVAL, OFFICERS LOCATED 71-YEAR OLD RACHEL CHENEY DEAD WITH A STAB WOUND TO HER UPPER TORSO.

RACHEL’S SON, 43-YEAR OLD JOSEPH CHENEY WAS DETERMINED TO BE A PERSON OF INTEREST IN THIS INVESTIGATION. JOSEPH WAS LOCATED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. JOSEPH WAS CHARGED WITH SUSPICION OF MURDER AND HELD AT THE ALLEN COUNTY JAIL.

>>HIT AND RUN IN HANCOCK COUNTY

(FINDLAY, OH) -- THE HANCOCK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS LOOKING FOR A HIT AND RUN DRIVER THAT KILLED A PEDESTRIAN LAST NIGHT. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON STATE ROUTE 235 NEAR HANCOCK COUNTY ROAD 29 IN ORANGE TOWNSHIP. THE PEDESTRIAN WAS WALKING SOUTHBOUND ON 235 WHEN HE WAS STRUCK BY A SOUTHBOUND VEHICLE. THE DECEASED’S IDENTITY IS BEING WITHHELD PENDING NOTIFICATION OF NEXT OF KIN. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON THIS INCIDENT SHOULD CONTACT DEPUTY BRETT TURNER AT THE HANCOCK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.

>>WOFB ANNOUNCES NEW CEO

(LIMA, OH) -- THE WEST OHIO FOOD BANK BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS FINISHED ITS MONTHS LONG SEARCH FOR A NEW CEO, AND THEY HAVE DECIDED TO STAY WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION.

CURRENT CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER TOMMIE HARNER HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE NEXT CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. CURRENT CEO LINDA HAMILTON ANNOUNCED EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT SHE WOULD BE RETIRING.

MS. HAMILTON WILL CONTINUE ON THE JOB THROUGH JUNE TO ENSURE A SMOOTH AND SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION. SHE HAS BEEN CEO OF WEST OHIO FOOD BANK SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2015.

MS. HARNER HAS BEEN WITH THE WEST OHIO FOOD BANK SINCE JULY 2006. SHE HAS SERVED IN NUMEROUS ROLES DURING HER TENURE, INCLUDING MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP POSITIONS.

>>LEHMAN STEPS DOWN AT DEFIANCE

(DEFIANCE, OH) -- THE DEFIANCE CRESCENT-NEWS IS REPORTING THAT DEFIANCE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASEKTBALL COACH KIRK LEHMAN IS STEPPING DOWN.

THE REPORT SAYS HE IS RETIRING AS A TEACHER AND COACH AT DEFIANCE FOLLOWING 17 SEASONS WITH THE BULLDOGS. HIS 2015 TEAM WON THE DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

THE DEFIANCE SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVED HIS RESIGNATION SUBMISSION IN A SPECIAL MEETING LAST NIGHT.

>>BATH GRAD SULLIVAN TO PLAY IN THE TBT

(LIMA, OH) -- BATH HIGH SCHOOL AND THE UNIVERSITY OF FINDLAY BASKETBALL PROGRAMS WILL BE REPRESENTED THIS SUMMER IN THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT (TBT) AS TAREN SULLIVAN WILL PLAY WITH TEAM D2.

SULLIVAN WAS A THIRD TEAM ALL-OHIOAN AS A SENIOR AT BATH AND LED THE WILDCATS TO BACK TO BACK DISTRICT TITLES AND A WESTERN BUCKEYE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. HE THEN WAS A STANDOUT AT UF, EARNING FIRST TEAM ALL AMERICA HONORS AS A SENIOR. HE IS THE SCHOOL’S 12TH LEADING SCORER WITH 1,595 CAREER POINTS.

SULLIVAN HAS PLAYED IN THE NBA G LEAGUE FOR THE PAST TWO SEASONS AFTER GRADUATING FROM FINDLAY IN 2018. HE HAS CAREER AVERAGES OF 7.1 POINTS, 3.7 REBOUNDS, AND 1.9 ASSISTS PER GAME. THIS PAST SEASON, SULLIVAN PLAYED WITH THE ERIE BAYHAWKS AND AVERAGED 7.7 POINTS AND 4.0 REBOUNDS PER OUTING.

THE TBT IS A 64-TEAM, SINGLE-ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT NOW IN ITS SEVENTH CAMPAIGN THAT IS OPEN TO THE WORLD'S TOP STANDOUTS AND COMPETITIVE TEAMS.
