>>Woman in Custody in Auglaize County Death

(Wapakoneta, OH)--A woman is in custody after being suspected for murder early Saturday morning. The Auglaize County Sheriff's Office says the death occurred in the Sandy Beach area around 3:30 a.m. Deputies were sent out to a reported shooting and found 36-year-old Wesley Sweigart dead inside a residence. They took 30-year-old Stephanie Sweigart into custody on a charge of murder. The investigation is ongoing.

>>Rockford Man Killed in Sunday Morning Crash

(Wapakoneta, OH)--The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Rockford man lost his life yesterday morning in a single vehicle crash on U.S. 33.

It happened at about 9:15 when 69-year old David Kimmel was westbound on 33 near the Mercer-Auglaize County line when he went left of center, overcorrected, and drove off the right side of the road. As he attempted to come back onto the road his vehicle overturned and he was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was later pronounced dead at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. The accident remains under investigation.

>>Lima Man Arrested on Sex Charge in Hamilton County

(Lima, OH)--WKRC-TV in Cincinnati reports that Montgomery police arrested a man from Lima who was accused of having sex with a 14- year- old girl in Hamilton County Saturday.

Douglas Shurelds faced a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Court documents say the 47-year- old Shurelds pleaded guilty in Allen County to having sex with a teen in 2018. He was sentenced to probation and is listed as a tier- one sex offender.

(Ada, OH)--DeBow Freed, who served as president at two local universities, passed away Saturday at his home in Ada. He was 94.

Dr. Freed had a long career at Ohio Northern University, serving as president through the 80’s and 90’s before retiring in 1999. In 2003 he took over as president of the University of Findlay, retiring from that post in 2010. He then became President Emeritus at ONU, serving in that role until his passing on Saturday.

(Madison, WI)--The Wisconsin Badgers used a big first-half run to down the Ohio State Buckeyes 70-57 in Madison.Tied at 15 in the first half, OSU forward Kaleb Wesson went to the bench with his second foul, and the Badgers exploded on a 23-5 run to take an 18-point lead into halftime.The Buckeyes tried to rally in the final twenty-minutes but couldn't do much as Andre Wesson finished with a measly team-high eleven-points in the loss.The Buckeyes had 14 turnovers and shot just 37 percent from the floor. Ohio State will now head back home to prepare for a game with Rutgers on Wednesday at Value City Arena.

(Cleveland, OH)--The Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in a 133-92 defeat at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.Four Cavs scored in double figures, including newly acquired center Andre Drummond who had a double-double in his Cleveland debut with 19-points and 14 rebounds.Cleveland has now lost six in a row and will try to halt the losing skid on Wednesday against Atlanta.

(Cincinnati, OH)--For the second time in less than 20-years, the Michigan State Spartans are looking to Ohio for their next head coach.Sources began saying late Sunday that Michigan State University is on the verge of announcing they have hired Luke Fickell away from the University of Cincinnati to be their new head coach.MSU's Mark Dantonio abruptly stepped down from the program last week after 13 seasons, and rumors began circulating the school was looking at Fickell as his replacement.Before joining Michigan State, Dantonio was the head coach at Cincinnati and an assistant at Ohio State, which is the exact same resume Fickell will be bringing to East Lansing if he is hired.
