>>Cleanup Continues in Lima

(Lima, OH)--There are still trees down in many streets in Lima this morning following the storm that hit the city late Wednesday night. Some streets may still be impassable so be sure to be alert on the morning commute. Also keep in mind some traffic signals may still be out as AEP reports there are still some power outages on Lima’s west side with 194 customers listed without service.

>>Disaster Relief Available Online

(Celina, OH)--The Disaster Relief Office in Celina closed earlier this week. But that doesn’t mean that those in need of help can’t still get advice or apply for benefits.

Sandra Lawson of the Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance says folks that need help can go to any office in Ohio regardless of where they live.

That number is 800-659-2955. People can also use the website at disasterloan.sba.gov.

NEED FOR NURSES - ONN

WITH A STATEWIDE SHORTAGE OF NURSES IMPACTING MEDICINE, THE OHIO STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING HAS ANNOUNCED A NEW EFFORT TO GET MORE NURSES INTO PRIMARY CARE. O-S-U HAS RECEIVED A FEDERAL GRANT TO ENROLL AND EDUCATE AT LEAST ONE-HUNDRED NURSES INTO THE AREA OF PRIMARY CARE. O-S-U SAYS THIS IS A NEW FOCUS IN MEDICINE: CURRENTLY ONLY ONE IN TEN NURSES WORK IN A PRIMARY CARE SETTING.

AND BECAUSE OF THE GREAT NEED, TUITION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS PROGRAM. THE COLLEGE OF NURSING IS HOLDING A RECRUITING EVENT FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE REGISTERED NURSES.

(Denver, CO) -- The Reds return to action tonight against the Rockies in Denver after a four-game All-Star break. Sonny Gray will start the series opener at Colorado against the Rockies Jon Gray. Pregame at 8:10 tonight here on WIMA. The Reds are 41-and-46, last in the NL Central but just 4 and ½ games out of first place.

(Cleveland, OH) -- The Indians get back to work tonight as they welcome the AL Central-leading Twins to town. Mike Clevinger and Kyle Gibson start the opener of the three-game set. Cleveland holds the second AL wild card, but is five-and-a-half games behind Minnesota atop the AL Central.

(Windson, ONT, CAN)--The Lima Locos take the best record in the Great Lakes League across the border this weekend with a three game series at the St. Clair Green Giants. Lima is 22-10 and owns a 5 and ½ game lead over the Green Giants atop the North Division.

(Delphos, OH)--Ryan Klausing shot a 73 to win the Lima Junior Golf Association event at Delphos Country Club yesterday. Ellen Naumann was the girls winner with an 84.
