Lima, OH (WIMA) -- Allen County officials recently dealt with a situation where an inmate given a medical furlough tried to get away.

On September 12th, 31 year-old Brandon Johns was taken to Lima Memorial.

The following day, jail officials contacted the hospital to follow up on Johns’ progress, and were told he had been discharged.

Deputies attempted to find Johns at several locations.

Back on Wednesday of this week, Johns was discovered to be a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Lima Police.

Johns reportedly fled on foot but was eventually apprehended.

He now faces charges of Obstructing Official Business, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Damaging, and Criminal Trespassing.
