2 Murder Cases on Trial

Lima, OH (WIMA) - It's usually a significant event when a case, especially on counts of murder, ends up going to trial.

Right now, the Allen County Common Pleas Court has 2 murder trials underway at the same time.

20-year-old Lima resident Cory Jackson is accused of shooting and killing 20-year-old Amari Gooding outside the Main Street Irish Pub in October of 2016.

A loud and crowded court room was cleared at one point by Judge David Cheney.

The other trial involves aggravated murder charges against 20 year-old Jayleantre Harris of Lima.

Harris is charged in the shooting death of 46-year-old Eric Staup in May of 2016 at Staup’s home on Metcalf Street.
