Lima, Ohio (WIMA) - Members of Midwest Electric recently donated over thirteen thousand dollars to twelve West-Central Ohio charities and community projects through the cooperative’s Community Connection Fund.

Some of the recipients of the fund included the West Ohio Food Bank who received eighteen hundred dollars to buy tools for warehouse maintenance and the Apollo Career Center who received over twelve hundred dollars for computers.

Since the program began in 1998- the Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund has provided over eight-hundred thousand dollars to area projects.

The Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund is a voluntary charitable program where members’ monthly bills are rounded up to the next dollar- with additional pennies deposited in the fund.
